Based in: Waltham Forest

Salary: £55,000 - £60,000 per annum

Package: Van and full package

Highways Manager. Involving new work schemes, highway term maintenance and repairs. £55,000 - £60,000 plus van and full package. 45 hours basic week. Waltham Forest.

Highways Manager. Experience.

  • Minimum 5 years Highways, schemes, and reinstatement supervisory experience.
  • Water attenuation, high spec granite paving.
  • Detailed knowledge of highway maintenance industry practice.
  • Good knowledge of relevant reporting procedures.
  • Exposure to high-paced environment

Highways Manager. Responsibilities and Production.

  • Ensure compliance with Contractor Safety, Health and Environmental requirements and company procedures.
  • Ensure Quality and Performance Standards
  • Effective planning and programming of the works
  • Ensure commercial success of projects supervised.
  • Provide effective Team Leadership and Management
  • General Management Approach

Skills and Knowledge.

Proven supervisory record with references.

Independent, challenging mind with the ability to make decisions in a pragmatic and professional manner.

Good interpersonal relationship skills with confident, resilient approach.

Excellent construction and site management skills with close attention to detail.

Good presentation, persuasiveness and negotiating skills.

Operational technical Knowledge (labour, material types, plant)

Highways Manager.

  • Reports to Contracts Manager. Liaises with Commercial team. Overseeing Operatives and Subcontractors.

Qualifications.

  • Construction Management, NVQ6 or similar
  • SSSTS and CSCS essential.
  • SWQR and First Aid desirable.
  • Driving licence
  • GCSE Maths and English.

Competent in.

  • Commercial awareness. Decision Making. Managing Relationships. Influencing. Teamwork.

Package.

  • Pay range £55,000 - £60,000 plus van and full package.
  • Must provide own vehicle if self-employed.
  • Working hours 45 per week with some overtime available
