Project Manager for new build multi-storey RC frame in Liverpool.
Civil Engineering qualification and background required for this main contractor. Interviews February. Position starts end of March 2010.
New build D&B project of £7.5m with substantial and complicated sub-structure. You will take the project through structural completion to fit out and handover. This is phase 1 of potentially 5 phases in the client’s scheme.
This commercial scheme will require a Project Manager with an Engineering background, good client facing skills, strong written and oral communication skills, excellent technical knowledge and a desire to drive the job forward. You must have drive and purpose with the ability to achieve results on a stand alone basis.
The Role will involve considerable liaison with the client due to both the D&B element as well as the location of the development, in an awkward city site. Once this project is up and running you will be encouraged to work on winning further projects in the area to develop a northern region for the company.
Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, you will have experience in Design & Build, M&E, cladding and associated weatherproofing. Your experience to date will be for recognised RC frame contractors and you will have at least 7 years post graduation expertise to be able to handle this challenging role.
A practical background working for either a main contractor or a larger subcontractor would be ideal, where you have taken a number of jobs, over £5m, through from start to final handover. You must have a “hands on” approach with a “can do” attitude; this is not a management contractor’s post.
Salary will be negotiable and commensurate with experience. £45,000 to £50,000 is the guide, with a negotiable package. A permanent position is offered, though a contract option may be considered
