Project Manager with a Civil Engineering qualification and experience in residential fit out, required for a Principal contractor to run the conversion and refurbishment work for 6 flats, £1.5m to £3m apiece. Immediate start available.
The Project involves combining 2 adjoining 4 storey dwellings, one of which is listed, converting them into 6 self-contained apartments, building an extension at the rear, opening up the existing floors, creating a steel framework within the structure, installing a lift, retaining and repairing areas of listed interest whilst modernising throughout.
The Project Manager needed for this role must be able to take full control of this scheme. The bulk of the structural alterations are now complete, so you will need to work on the fit out and finishes, taking the apartments through to sale stage. A nearby scheme of a similar size is currently going through planning and is scheduled to follow on from this project.
A Civil Engineering background is preferred. You must demonstrate drive and motivation and have the necessary skills to progress a scheme of this nature with a minimum of input from the Contracts Manager. Full support will be available from the retained Design team and from the Commercial and Buying teams with regard to subcontractors and delivery of materials.
Salary. A negotiable £55 – 60,000 salary is on offer. The right person for the role will be suitably paid for their skills and experience.
Minimum qualifications are current SMSTS, CSCS and First Aid. You must have reasonable IT skills, the ability to work with clients, suppliers, site staff and sub contractors, so good oral and written communication skills are essential.
Location. You should currently live within 1 hour’s travel of central London in order to be able to access these and future projects.
