Site Manager from an Engineering background for Groundworks & RC. This successful Contractor has an additional requirement for a Site Manager from a Civil Engineering background to work on new RC projects that are being awarded. The projects range from £2 to £6.5m and are predominantly in the Housing Association sector. This will involve working for main contractors, providing all the requisite technical and managerial “know how”. Experienced in Groundworks and RC you must be capable of working on your own with the support of a visiting Contracts Manager.
Experienced in working initially on Groundworks and following on to Reinforced Concrete structures, you will be able to read and understand Construction drawings, specifications and Method Statements. You will be able to motivate and encourage as well as providing accurate and concise information to the workforce. You will need to have clear oral, written and IT communication skills with an evident commercial appreciation for value engineering.
The Contractor is successful in Groundworks and RC frames, working with a number of regular clients and has a number of ongoing projects in London and the south-east. The Contractor has a good record of working with their clients and aims to build on the repeat business that they already enjoy. The directly employed staff are all experts in their field and you will be joining a strong team of professionals.
Remuneration is based on a good hourly rate, based on your background and experience. A permanent position may be available if that is your preferred option. The work is predominantly London and south-east based, so you must live locally.
Qualified to Degree level in Civil Engineering you must be CSCS carded, ideally with SMSTS and First Aid certification. You are likely to have a minimum of 5-7 years working for recognised RC frame or Groundworks contractors on similar projects in the UK over the last few years. Ideally a car driver.
