Operations Manager for Highways Term Maintenance Contracts turning over £90m pa. Ideally with a Civil Engineering degree and background as a Site Engineer progressing through the ranks and now looking for the next move. You should have experience in running multiple schemes where projects range from £250k to £3-4m. This is an excellent career move for someone who wants to be heading up and growing a successful Term Maintenance division.
The Role is to develop a number of long term schemes in the south-east, overseeing existing teams working on a number of 5 to 10 year Term Maintenance contracts where the emphasis is on winning additional work through excellent client relationships. The aim is to develop the existing contracts and expand into neighbouring areas by continuing to offer a high quality service.
The Contractor has considerable experience on Civils Term Maintenance including: Winter Maintenance, Street Lighting, Signage, Surfacing Projects, Patching, Gulley Cleaning, Highways Maintenance and 24 hour call-out.
A Background in working on Civils Term Maintenance is preferred; or on projects covering Infrastructure, Road Improvement schemes, River and Rail Bridges, small By-passes, Drainage schemes, Tunnels and Subways, all requiring high quality Engineering Input as well as the associated large scale External Works projects.
Good planning and programming skills are required to ensure that the projects are run in an organised and logical manner. You willprobably have at least 10-12 years practical site experience working for a Contractor who is carrying out schemes for Local Authorities, Main Contractors, Public Bodies, Government Departments, Utilities or Private Clients, to fit the role.
Drive and self-motivation are required, as are sound communication skills in oral and written presentation, you must be able to assess and discuss technical matters with the clients, local authority representatives and foremen alike as well as having a clear understanding of the commercial aspects that make a successful project.
Qualifications in a Civil Engineering Degree, Diploma or equivalent are preferred, whilst being able to demonstrate good commercial and technical knowledge. You must have a current Driving Licence, be IT conversant and have good oral and written communication skills.
A Permanent position is available @ £65,000 negotiable basic, with a car or car allowance, eligible for a substantial bonus, BUPA and contributory Pension scheme, 25 days holiday. Only candidates who are legally entitled to live and work in the UK will be considered for this position.
