Contracts Manager, retail fit out. To work nationwide on petrol station retail shops fit out schemes for a well respected contractor. You must have drive and enthusiasm, be prepared to travel nationwide to sites, with 2/3 days per week in the London office. Excellent opportunity to develop the retail side of an already successful contractor and head up a profitable sector. You must already have multi site retail fit out management experience in a fast track environment, ideally in petrol forecourt or similar.
The Contractor has a successful history in working on petrol station refurbishments and rebranding with a number of reputable petrol suppliers. They now have an opportunity to expand on this business by completing a framework of shop fit out work on a nationwide basis.
The Construction Programme starts in March 2012, so an early appointment is anticipated to allow as much time as possible to plan and prepare. The programme allows for 3 weeks per shop and it is likely that up to 5 contracts will be running at any one time.
Your Responsibility will be:
- To ensure a snag free handover of each scheme
- For initial site surveys and to advise the client on buildability and programme
- Site specific call offs of materials in conjunction with the buying team
- Procurement of subcontractors and materials
- To work with the Commercial team on budgets, valuations and internal reporting, to include a fortnightly report to directors on a site by site basis
You must:
- Be able to demonstrate a background in successfully completing similar schemes in the UK
- Work with people at all levels
- Report to Directors and Client as relevant
- Demonstrate good oral and written communication skills
- Show strong project and contract management experience
- Have proven experience in managing both sub contractors and directly employed tradesmen
- Be responsible for client side deliverables, programmes, (MS Project), risk assessments, method statements, and site records
- Be prepared to work extended hours as required
- Have a driving licence and be prepared to travel nationwide
Salary and benefits:
An attractive £5-60k basic with car, expenses and production bonus potential is on offer.
