Construction Project. Safety Officer. Reporting to a Site based Project Manager and a visiting Senior Safety Manager you will ideally be a Health & Safety graduate, degree qualified, with 1-2 years UK site experience on construction projects seeking to develop your career in the construction industry, specialising in Health & Safety. IT skills and the ability to communicate clearly at oral and written levels are essential. This is a site based role.
A Health & Safety or Construction related degree or similar tertiary qualification would be preferable. Exposure to site based conditions would be necessaryas this will demonstrate that you are aware of the construction operations and procedures.
Working on a multi-storey Residential RC frame project in the Ealing area, you will be able to participate in high profile new build projects. This is a role where you will be the ‘on site presence’ and will need to be able to enforce the good Safety Systems that are in place.You will be expected to further your development by monitoring and checking the effectiveness and adherence of the company policies. You will be able to take advantage of this successful company’s 40 plus years in construction, utilising their experience and track record on a wide range of commercial and residential projects to develop your Health & Safety profile for this division.
The Position offers an excellent opportunity to get ‘hands on’ experience in the Health & Safety field. You must have enthusiasm for this type of role as you will be out on a working site and expected to make a valuable contribution to the project.
Remuneration is from £25,000 to 28,000, this may be negotiable if you have additional skills that will reflect your expertise and will be subject to review after a qualifying period. You must currently live within 45 minutes travel of the area to be able to access the site
You must have clear written and spoken English, and must be fully computer literate. This post will enable you to take on the responsibility for further developing your own Health & Safety education and progression, making full use of the site facilities. A driving licence may be advantageous, but is not essential. In order to be considered for this post you must be legally entitled to live and work in the UK.
